Milgram Meets the Magic Circle

Reuters reports that a high-end French psychology experiment is redoing the Milgram Experiment, but using the form of a television gameshow to push up the obedience rates. After all, if it’s on TV stage, it’s just a game, and games are safe even when the opponent is screaming. Or something.

Looking forward to some published research. Tying in to this month’s theme of ludic society and (pervasive) games changing the world, the mechanics of puppet-master problem and transformation of acceptable behavior ($) on the brink of the magic circle are turning extremely important.
